School. The place where we go to learn about all kinds of things that can be either fun or boring. School is something that people either like or they dread or both. I was the both kind of person. I loved school, but I struggled. I struggled in math most of all because it doesn't come naturally to me like it does for a lot of other people. Now, don't get me wrong people can like and enjoy math, but not me. Math was one of my hardest subjects when I was in school and it sucked.
School can come with a variety of difficulties, whether that is with classes, friends, bullies, etc, and it can wear a person out having to deal with all that stuff. I didn't really struggle with the bullies part, but I had my problems in classes. It was hard for me to get through high school and graduate because I was having trouble grasping concepts and it really wore me out.
I came really close to not graduating because I had a lot on my plate. First semester I was literally taking three math classes (Geometry, Algebra 2b, and Personal Finance), an AP English class, and then my extracurricular classes. I had to take geometry again because I failed it in Sophomore year, but my teacher wasn't all that great and I was the only senior in that class. I just couldn't learn from her and it was bad. I ended up having to do credit recovery after school during the second semester because I had failed a marking period and I had to get that credit in order to graduate.
My AP class was stressful because we did a lot of essays and I'm not that good at essays. I got one A on a paper out of that whole year (the only A I ever got doing essays in all my years at school). My algebra 2b class was alright because I could actually learn from the teacher that I had and personal finance was okay as well.
I did end up graduating though which was nice. I was told that I had to pass all my extracurricular classes, the AP class, and either Algebra 2b or Personal Finance. That entire year was a complete struggle for me, but I kept telling myself that I was going to graduate and I did. Plus I got through two years of college, which was a whole other experience.
The point is that if you are one of those people who struggle in school it's okay. You can get through it and it will turn out alright. I know that's easier said than done, but I believe in you. If you need to you can write yourself little sticky notes that has motivation quotes on it and stick them all around your room or on your textbooks/notebooks/planner so you can always see it. You can listen to motivation videos in the morning to hype you up before you go to school. You do have the strength to finish the year and eventually school in general. Stay strong and believe in yourself.
