Keep our Focus on Jesus

(The full story is Matthew 14:22-36, but for the sake of this blog topic I'm focusing on 29-31).

Those verses in the picture is something that we should all be aware of because it can happen to us (not literally lol) and that's not a good thing. You see when our focus is completely on Jesus without us wavering in that focus then we are able to do anything, even walk on water, but the minute we start to doubt Him and remove our eyes from Him then we will start to sink. The thing is we don't have to be afraid of sinking because when we call out to Him to help us He will do exactly that. He wants our full attention at all times, but because of our humanity we tend to fall away at times when things get to hard to handle or we just want to be rebels.

When we are being rebellious eventually we will turn back to Him. The same thing is go when we sin. Eventually we will have no choice, but to go to Him in order for Him to cleanse us. It might not happen for a long time, but it will at some point that we are not expecting it even want to happen. Keeping our focus on Him will help us through whatever life decides to throw at us because we will know without a shadow of a doubt that He is with us during those times. It can feel like a struggle at times because other things can show up that have a tendency to show up in order to distract us.

Those distractions can either come from Him or Satan himself and if they come from Satan we have to be on guard against those things. I have had a thought where life is just one big test that God decides to throw at us to see if we would keep on His path. They're things that we can keep our focus on, like a certain hobby, for a long time so why can't we do that with God. Sometimes it feels like we do things on purpose to see how long it takes for us to get away with it until God decides to do something that makes us stop and that isn't a good thing.

Stop taking your eyes/focus off of Him. I know easier said then done, but we can do it. It isn't impossible, but we have to make that decision to do so because we have to do it ourselves. If we are having trouble doing so ask Him to help because He will. Keep asking if He doesn't answer right away because He isn't going to leave us hanging.
