One of those days

Have you ever had a day where you just wanted to stay at home and do nothing? That day when you didn't feel like company or going to someone's house? Its a day when you just want to spend alone. For me personally I'm actually having one right now as I write this and I'm not sure why it is happening now. I had work today and then out of nowhere when I got picked up I just wanted alone time. Usually that happens when I'm feeling overwhelmed with stuff, like when I'm around people for days at a time and it doesn't matter if its for a short amount of time. I could be around someone for a couple hours and then just be in my room doing nothing, but if it is like that for basically the entire week I can't stand it anymore. This week has been kind of like that and it isn't about to end. I feel somewhat bad for feeling like this when its Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter). It sucks when you don't feel like doing anything because what if a friend wanted to hang out and you have to be like sorry I'm just not feeling it today, Maybe another time.

Its okay to have a day like that. To have some "me time" when things get hectic cause self-care is important. Its not good when you don't find time for yourself even for a little bit because you could run yourself straight into the ground if you overdo it. If you work all the time you could try to take a minute after you get out to just sit down and relax. Sure work is important because you need the money that you earn for important things, but its okay to slow down a little in order for taking care of yourself. We all need breaks from time to time in order to check in with ourselves to see how we are doing.

Change

For me personally change is difficult and I don't like it. If I'm used to doing a certain thing and something new is thrown into it....it completely throws me off. Change is different for everyone and they handle it in their own ways. There is nothing wrong with embracing change, but some people have trouble doing so. Its okay to not like it and its okay if you do because that is your opinion and how you see it as a whole. Everyone is going to have different thoughts and we should respect that. In order to make something better whether that is situational or ourselves than change is necessary. It can be scary to bring a new variable into our lives, but it could be worth it to see what can come out of that variable.

Trauma

Trauma: a deeply distressing or disturbing experience

Trauma could be anything and it could really damage a person. I myself have some trauma: when I witnessed an ex-friend try to commit suicide and when my dad had his work accident. Two unrelated things, but terrible at the same time. I still get flashbacks from when my friend tried to hang herself, its been like 5-6 years now since it happened, and I'm reminded of my dad's accident every time I see him. There are worse things that what I went through and people tend to handle it in different ways. If you have ever experienced trauma of any kind then you should try to get some help because when you talk about it....it will allow some of that weight that you have been holding onto to lift a little. It could take a long time before it feels like things are back to "normal," but it will get there. You can get through this.

Truth be Told

"I say I'm fine, yeah I'm fine oh I'm fine, hey I'm fine but I'm not
I'm broken
And when its out of control I sat it's under control but it's not
And you know it
I don't know why it's so hard to admit it
When being honest is the only way to fix it
There's no failure, no fall
There's no sin you don't already know
So let the truth be told." (This is the lyrics to the chorus of the song)

Its okay to not be okay. There is always going to be times when we don't have things under control and its okay to admit that we don't know what we are doing. Its okay to step out of our comfort zones and ask for help. Whether that is to someone close to us or to God Himself. We can't do everything ourselves because everyone needs help throughout our lives. I am guilty of not doing this myself because I'm of the mindset that I can do things by myself. When I was in school I never wanted to ask for help because I thought I could handle it on my own, but I couldn't. I very nearly didn't graduate high school because I wouldn't ask for that help sometimes and when I did ask for help some teachers would get irritated with me because I wasn't understanding the material after they "tried" to explain how to do it. I did eventually graduate which was a huge relief.

It isn't a weakness to put pride aside and allow people in when things are falling apart. It is better to have someone in our corner to support us when we are going through something then to try to tackle the problem alone. Having a person around to listen when we need to talk or just to distract us for a bit once in awhile would be a lot of help because it would mean that there is someone who cares about us. God is always someone we can turn to without fail because He won't leave us no matter what and will in His own way turn things around for us. If you are going through something right now you can get through this and remember that its okay to not be okay.

Remember this

1. You don't have to be perfect
2.  Having a bad day is ok
3. Small steps are also progress
4. Asking for help is strength
5. People love and appreciate you

All of these are so true and should be remembered because people deserve to be lifted up by being reminded that they are good enough. There is so much stuff that goes on in our lives that it is so easy to tell ourselves things to bring us down.

1) You don't have to be perfect

If you feel like you have to be perfect to show someone or people that you can keep it together... you don't have to. Being perfect can sometimes hinder you instead of making things better because you will be so focused on making sure everything is right that you lose sight of other things that are also important. Its not a bad thing to want things to look nice and put together, but you don't have to overdo it to where it is causing you harm.

2) Having a bad day is okay

Having a bad day is just something that signifies that you need to take time for yourself. Yes bad days suck and it just feels like it keeps going, but it's okay to not be okay. Think of it like this: the next day can always be better than the bad. Look to that good day that is right around the corner and don't get discouraged when it isn't working out.

3) Small steps are also progress

Progress is something that takes time and it doesn't matter if it is big steps or small steps: progress is progress. Just getting out of bed in the morning is progress and if you are on a deadline there is absolutely no rush. Whatever steps that you do to get closer to whatever it is that you are trying to accomplish you will get there at some point. You have to make sure to take yourself into consideration when you are doing something because you don't want to get yourself so worried about getting that thing done that you make yourself sick. Take it slow and don't fret over the little things that you are doing.

4) Asking for help is strength

Asking for help is something that I personally have struggled with because I don't like it. I want to figure it out myself without help, but even I can admit that this is so true. If you don't know how to do something being able to take a step back or a step down from our personal feelings (aka pride) to ask isn't a bad thing. When you ask for help you are learning something new and it's okay to not know how do something.

5) People love and appreciate you

This is probably the one that can be hard for a lot of people to wrap their heads around. People can be so mean sometimes, not everyone is like that. You will have people who will be on your side and who will say you are good enough. That drawing that you made is amazing, that video that you created is so cool, and you are an amazing person are just a few things that people who care about you will say. It's true that you will probably get hate for anything that you do, but you have to learn to ignore those people and turn to those who are lifting you up. You do matter. Don't forget that.

Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day. A special day that people spend with their loved ones. Whether that is with a romantic partner or with a friend. Love doesn't just deal with romantic love. There is more than one kind of love:

1. Romantic love
2. Self-love
3. Platonic love
4. Family love

All of these are all valid and should be respected as such. Enjoy this day with the people you love and if you don't have anyone to spend the day with show yourself some love today, Maybe you struggle with self-love and you don't know what to do, but you are a strong person and you can do things for yourself. Treat yourself to something that you haven't before. Like get some chocolate for yourself or maybe just a day of rest and relaxation. Tell yourself some positive things about yourself and remember that you can get through today.

Remember to tell the ones you care about that you love them today and even if you don't do anything for today just spend time with them anyways. Sometimes the best times is spent at home or at a loved ones house instead of at a restaurant or some other random place, Making memories is important, but you don't necessarily have to go somewhere to make those memories.

Happy Valentine's Day! 💗

Waymaker

Life can get so hard and difficult sometimes that it feels like there is no way out, but here is the thing...there is always a way. There is one person who is the only one can fully change the situation and that is God himself. Only He can completely turn things around, but it comes down to us learning to trust Him and to be patient through whatever circumstances we happen to be going through at that particular moment in time. Yes it is going to be hard getting through and its going to feel like its falling apart, but eventually it will be okay. Maybe not fully better, but okay and it will be a little easier to move on. We have to let God work and stay positive through the situation, so we don't feel depressed about it. It will get better, so keep your head up and learn to trust God.

The following song is all about God making a way and that He is always around
